The Region's mission is to accompany individuals, associations or local authorities (communes, communities of municipalities …) in implementing their tourist project. This can involve establishing a hotel, modernising a campsite, creating a leisure park, a museum … or even setting up rental accommodation and bed and breakfasts … For such interventions, the Region provides advice based on its knowledge of the market, gives economical elements indicating the projects feasibility and acts as the intermediary for obtaining public funding. The GIT also ensures project follow-up, from the creation of subsidy request applications to their market launch and promotion.
The Region carries out development studies of the territory such as the development of the Ille-et-Rance canal, the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel and positions the region as a real tourist destination.
The Region also proposes interventions on different themes: development of hiking (creation of signposted trails), the development of our heritage targeted at children (creation of local riches activity booklets: castles, roadside crosses, natural sites ….).
The Region organises events : the "Veillées Contées" (story telling evenings), hiking activities …
The Region acts as co-ordinator for professionals and develops networking intiatives (Discovery'Pass for the Region) and training ….
Finally, the Region participates, with the tourist offices, in a promotional programme for professionals: presence at tourist trade fairs throughout Western France, Internet, publishing … |
